Katarzyna Szeszycka explores various media and environments. Her works have been inspired and created during Szeszycka’s various expeditions to volcanic areas and during her last residency at International Artists-in-Residence Program in Aso (Kumamoto, Japan) and mobile art residence Focus+ Indonesia in Java/Bali (Indonesia).
Katarzyna Szeszycka has been awarded several international residencies, scholarships and prestigious awards in her homeland. She was a Grand Prix winner of the 24th Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting – a special prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2012).
In 2015 she received PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk at the Faculty of Painting. The axis of the work was the dim light perception and realization of bio-art: breeding of white plants.
